Hi Folks. So I'm replacing the crap stock door speakers in my Badlands with Hertz speakers from Crutchfield. They provided the speaker brackets and wiring conversion too.. love Crutchfield! Anyway, I followed a Youtube vid for removal of the front door panels, which went fine. After installing the speakers and putting everything back together, closing the doors and testing out the new speakers (like night and day compared to the stock ones), I found that the inside door latches don't work. The doors now can only be opened from the outside. I'm hoping that I'm just an airhead and am missing something simple. Any ideas?

When you were reattaching the handle and lock cable mechanism, did you place the lock in the locked position before reattaching it to the panel?

Is the retention tab fully seated?

You were correct on all counts! If anyone stumbles across this thread in the future after following a YouTube door panel removal video, you either need to start the process with the door in the locked position or push the door cable with the ball on it back into the housing so that the latch mechanism can grab onto it. Thanks Kamikaze9000!
