Ford sent me a Customer Satisfaction Survey on the 3rd anniversary of my in-service date. The usual,..Would you recommend to a friend. etc.
I got to admit, I gave the vehicle a poor rating. I enjoy the vehicle ( BS/OB 2022 ) but too many recalls and an impression of general lack of attention to quality. Not a surprise to anyone, Including Jim Farley.
For comparison I looked up the recall history of 2022 Toyota RAV4. There have been 2. One for an issue with the passenger side seatbelt that may erroneously tell the car there is no one in the seat, ( if I understand it ) and the other is a software upgrade to deal with an issue with the ESC. ( electronic stability control ). No leaky injectors, no crummy batteries. I still have injectors that may leak, and I fought for 2 1/2 years to get my crummy EFB replaced.

I considered the RAV4 when I bought the BS. Didn't then, and still don't like the appearance of the Toyota. But in terms of reliability and resale value, I probably should have bought the Toyota.
C'mon Mr. Farley....turn this around...

Ford has been widely panned in the automotive press for the number of recalls it has issued in the past few years. That said, the 2022 RAV4 was a mature design (that generation was first introduced in 2018) while the Bronco Sport was only a year old. A better comparison will be the number of recalls issued on the 2025 MY Bronco Sports.

The 1.5L Draggen' had most of the issues. My biggest complaint is that everything runs off 12v. IMHO, an electric emergency brake is an oxymoron. My 2.0 has been great, and the vehicle is very capable off road. It does everything I hoped, and gets good gas mileage too.

I'm not sure how Ford could have known about the faulty batteries. They are offering to replace a 3 year old battery for me, which is still working fine, so I'm not complaining.
