Engine sputtering

After getting gas my engine will drop a couple hundred rpm and shake before returning to normal has anyone else seen this or know what this could be.

I assume there is no MIL (Check Engine Light) on the dash.

You may have an issue with the EVAP purge valve. This is a common issue.

This pulls gasoline vapors from the evaporative carbon canister and burns the vapors in the engine.

The purge valve assembly is located at the top of the engine and consists of small black tubes

are you doing alot of stop & go? or are you highway miles? id suggest a bottle of seafoam, injector cleaner etc next time you go for a highway run. get it nice n hot maybe you just need to burn off some carbon.

we are weekend road trippers, i'll pop a bottle of lucas injector cleaner in there every other tank. see if that helps.

It could be the seal on your capless tank fill. Try cleaning it with WD40.

By chance did this start happening after the last time you got fuel?

No its been doing it for a couple months. Im going to try running some injector cleaner next time i take it out for a while on the highway

I can report that replacing these tubes will solve that issue. My OBX would stall out and be hard to start EVERY time I put fuel in. I had to push accelerator pedal all the way down when starting.

Purchasing this setup solved the issue. NO Purge Canister Code pops up anymore as well.

Here is the best price I could find with shipping. Price is a little more than the other link, but with shipping, this is best. Install not to hard either. Everything just pushes on, but you have to put tubes under other tubes.
