Hello, I just received my AVS Bug deflector 2 from RealTruck. Pretty easy install until I tried closing the hood. I adjusted the rubber bump stops up and down. Still won’t secure unless I unscrew and remove. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Guessing shield wraps under lip of hood in spots
Apply thin film of something to underside of shield
Close hood lightly....open to determine point(s) of contact
Film of something...only thing coming to mind right now is BBQ sauce
Almost dinner time
I'm starved

I also have the AVS 2 bug deflector. I was not able to close the hood by pressing down on the hood neither. I raised the hood a good 2 to 3 feet and just let the hood drop close and it worked. I didn't have to adjust the hood bumpers neither.

Had the same issue with the Weathertech one. Found out you have to adjust the 2 front rubber stops by the radiator down to almost nothing(counterclockwise)

Mine fits really tight, dropping my hood does nothing.
I have to ‘press’ it closed.

I have hood chips. Interested in a deflector. BIG question for me, how does it handle the automatic car wash and how much snow builds up in there? Is there some way for drainage to occur?
Thanks

I have the AVS bug deflector and the Redline Tuning hood supports. To close my hood, I lower it until it is still raised about a foot and push down swiftly on the hood deflector. Hood closes perfectly every time with no dents or problems.
