Just wanted to share my Bronco.
I was lucky to get the first one the San Francisco.

the Outer Banks is really great for people living in an urban area but want to go on adventures on the weekends.

having adventure in mind I did put some Toyo open country 235/65R 18 on my ride.

we’re in the final stages of narrowing down our hard shell roof tent purchase. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

It depends on moonroof. Ford designed the BS with moonroof to have a 100 pound dynamic weight limit. The Yakima HD 2 person tent they have on their site is described on Yakima‘s site as 101 pounds (https://www.backcountry.com/yakima-skyrise-rooftop-tent-3-person?avad=248329_d1ef2238d&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_source=gearpatrol.com&utm_campaign=Custom+Link&utm_term=content). But it requires a crossbar. And that adds 18 pounds. So I’m guessing that anyone with BL+BL or FE s out of luck. I guess. It is perhaps my greatest disappointment with the vehicle. Definitely constrains things.

Even a basket is 40 pounds and the lock n load platform is 50 pounds. So you aren’t going to be putting much on top.

at least that’s how I read it.

I thought it was a 150lb dynamic weight when driving and 600lbs weight dating when parked.

How are the tires, and rubbing? Man, the factory tires are skinny.

the factory tires were very skinny.
the Toyo open country were a needed change. They look really good,

no rubbing, no increase cabin noise.
I did a DB test before and after the new tires were installed both were on the hwy at speed. DB was 55-58

Thank you for tracking this information down. In my research for a hard shell tent here is one example that is only 80lb.

my original hope was to have a clamshell tent like the falcon XL with additional rack on top to hold other gear.
I might need to scrape that idea and go with this one.

I’ve also found the new Smittybilt roof top tent. It weighs 94lbs without the ladder. I was also going to remove the mattress during drives to be safe.

haven’t decided but if you hear of an extra light roof tent please share.

the smittybilt looks interesting. At 85 long, I bet it will overhang the moonroof a bit (I’m not sure about external rooftop dimensions). their site says it requires three crossbars, the middle to support the weight. I wonder if that still puts it under the weight budget for the moonroof. Ideas?

I’m looking at the same one. I’m worried it might be too big. It’s 90” long

Nice! I have the same one and want to put a AT tire on mine as well. Do you have a front or back shot of the tires by chance? Wanting to see the difference between them and the skinny’s on it now. Any further thoughts on them? Still happy with your choice?

Thanks!
