Drove down to check out the wildflowers and the San Andreas fault scarp yesterday. Cut across from Soda Lake road to Elkhorn road; big bend handled the steep stuff with no problem.

Looks like a gopher snake...no rattles, but pretty big, about 42" long....

stayed around for the golden hour, then drove back to the Bay Area. Dash said 38 mpg average, including the off road stuff at 15-20 mph.
