Probably not. I think 245/65 is max without lift.

I second this. I really want to know if I could get 245/70/17 on my stock FE on stock wheels.
from what I’m reading you can go 245/70/17. Minor rub. That’s what I’m going with when mine comes in next week. I got it from this picture and thread.

There is more than just rubbing involved if you are going to run 70's series tires.
With the diameter of the tire much larger than stock, the way the vehicle performs will suffer. You are effectively changing the gearing to a much higher ratio.
Acceleration will be slower, braking will take more distance and the transmission may not even be able to shift into the higher gears without the engine bogging down especially with the 1.5 engine which intern will affect fuell economy.
If you want to run 70's series tires I would suggest going to 16 inch rims (HRG did that as well), then you'll have the benefit of having a taller sidewall tire for offroad and still have a manageable tire diameter that won't kill the vehicles performance.
BTW, in that picture, the tires look to big for the wheel wells. They will do more than just minor rubbing if you dont have a lift and trimming.
