They now make a clear windshield "tint" that blocks infrared rays. I sat in my car for a demonstration where the guy held it over the window and put an infrared heater a few inches away. The difference was amazing.

I suffer from skin cancer, so I'm always looking for better solutions to window tinting. I lived in Tucson for 9 years, so I know what you're facing.

This is good to know.

I just had the windows ceramic coated - so I will have to chek on this instead.

The better sunshade seems to be helping a lot with heat in the Sporty...but when I am out and about the back of the monitor screen gets super hot.

The monitor screen will feel super hot (relatively) but is it still going black and shutting down? That’s the abnormal aspect

It's done it twice before I got the new sunscreen and started covering it with a small cover that was meant for steering wheels.

I'm going to San Tan Ford - they sponsor my Mustang Club and it's where I bought the Sporty.

These vehicles are designed for interior temperatures your vehicle is exposed to

My guess is San Tan will not be able to observe the display to shut off due to heat because it sounds intermittent (they might try it with a heat gun)

If San Tan can observe the issue but states no repairs are needed, ask for an explanation why heat causes the display to shut off

There is no need to cover the display or use a sunscreen except those do help the interior look nicer for much longer

Was San Tan Ford able to diagnose the display issue ?

yes - it was an update issue - and now I have a sunscreen that was made for a steering wheel that I place over the monitor area.
I also am using the heavy duty window sun screen and it helps a lot.

Of course it is 104 plus here now...
