About to hit 35k in 22 Big Bend(Built Dec 21) Looks like I may be have a coolant issue now. Was noticing not getting much heat not sure if connected to issue, Opened hood to see coolant was only in the tube at the bottom of reservoir. Got coolant and filled up to just below the max line. Next day back to same extreme low level. Added more coolant(at this point about half a gallon added). No signs that i can tell/see of leaking inside the engine bay or on the drive way.

Also had a weird RPM Drop and noise after fueling up and waiting for a light to turn green. (Video included) But has not happened since this instance.

I looked out the last service record i have from November of last year, Coolant level was checked of as good. I will be keeping an eye on it for sure, will update if anything changes.

Looks like we have similar issues. My vehicle also has coolant loss. Although very little, in the last 51k miles I’ve topped it off twice from minimum. Dealer put it under pressure and couldn’t find any leaks. As for the idle, it happened to me once just like you after fueling. Apparently it’s the battery. I haven’t changed mine yet though.

Good to Know, i will have to get my battery tested. Thank you for comment, makes me feel a little better! Just joined the 35k club this morning.

I don't know how the battery could affect idle like that. Did your technician give you any details? Idle problems after refueling are often attributed to malfunction of the vapor purge valve. This is the component that opens to admit fuel vapor captured in the charcoal canister to the cylinders to be burnt off.

Hey Mark, not been able to get to a service appointment yet, it has only done it that one time, I have since filled up 4 plus times now with out the issue.

I’m really not 100% sure. Other members had similar issues with the idling and changed the battery and that did the trick. Mine did idle rough after fueling but the engine was also still cold so not sure if maybe the battery didn’t have enough time to charge. For me after driving home 45 miles the idling issue had gone away.

I got my BS Big Bend with 11,500 miles back from Ford a few days ago. I was slightly low on coolant, but didn't have any visible leaks or error codes. The engine/heating system was struggling to warm up too. Ford ran a compression test, and it ended up being a bad thermostat on mine. Ford replaced the thermostat under warranty, and it heats up better now than when I got it new. No more coolant loss. I think mine was defective from the factory because it always struggled to heat up since I got it. My BS never made that knocking sound though. I'm not sure if a low battery can cause it to make that sound. It's possible for coolant to leak into the engine from other places so just to be safe, I'd get it checked out soon.
