I’m absolutely done with Ford after this.
I bought my 2021 Bronco Sport brand new in May 2021. At 46,000 miles, the water pump failed and had to be replaced. That was covered under the powertrain warranty, and I thought that would be the end of it.
Now I’m at 64,000 miles, and it’s happening again.
The car was just diagnosed by the dealership, and it has both:
1. A failed water pump (again)
2. A failing rear differential, consistent with the symptoms in SSM 52357 — grinding, popping, etc.
And Ford’s response? Too bad.
• I’m 4,000 miles over the 60k powertrain warranty
• I’m also 4,000 miles over the 12k/12-month parts warranty from the last water pump replacement
• And because of that, they won’t cover either repair
I already tried escalating to Ford Corporate, and they still won’t do anything. Even though the same part failed a second time, and I’ve now got a rear differential issue that Ford clearly knows about, I’m being told I have to pay out of pocket.
I’ve taken good care of this car. These aren’t wear-and-tear problems — these are known failures happening across this model. There are SSMs and service bulletins out there confirming it.
If anyone has had success getting Ford to take accountability after warranty expiration — or through BBB Auto Line or any kind of arbitration — I’d really appreciate advice. I’m just angry, disappointed, and tired of getting brushed off over what clearly should be Ford’s responsibility.
