I looked, but what I really want is a rack like this with a part that slides off the back for loading. Does anyone have this solution? I might have to build it.

So, how are these originally $1000+, but I can find just as good for $300-400 MSRP?

What separates you from the lower priced ones with light racks?

I find it very difficult to justify $1000+ for a roof rack if I can find similar ones for 1/3 the price.

Can you offer some insight into what separates you from them?

Thanks

TrailRax racks are engineered for true adventure. Many low-cost racks aren’t trail-tested at all, while ours are proven to handle rooftop tents, awnings, and heavy gear without flexing, loosening, or wearing after serious off-road use.

• Materials & Strength
We use 5052 aluminum (3/16"), stainless hardware, and a patented 90° bend design that adds significant strength. A lot of budget racks use thinner steel or imported aluminum that flexes or rusts over time.

• Real Load Ratings
Our racks are engineered, tested, and rated for 250 lbs dynamic / 700 lbs static loads. Many cheaper racks advertise ā€œsupports RTTs!ā€ but don’t publish any actual ratings or structural testing.

• Fully Modular System
Most low-cost racks are one-piece designs with limited mounting points. Ours are fully modular with adjustable TSLOT crossbars, built-in accessory channels, light bar cutouts, and compatibility with tons of mounts (RTT, awnings, fuel, recovery, gear boxes, antennas, etc.).

• Made in the USA
Everything is designed, manufactured, coated, and tested in Utah. You’re paying for higher standards, QA, controlled materials, and lifetime support—not mass-produced imports.

Also, we have Bronco Sport racks, with minor scratches in the powder coat, that are 50% off until December 1st ($550).
