Hehehe... Yeah, I was kinda being sarcastic... Completely "understandable" that all they care about is the $$$ and not the fact that they are legally bound by their franchise agreement to support the warranty regardless whether you bought the car from them or not! There were two 2 dealerships in...
Speaking of things to check at delivery, my tires were well over-filled (40+ psi) at delivery (realized it after leaving the dealer/about a 100 miles later). Just another thing to watch out for that PDIs tend to miss.
OMG, I should have thought of that!! BEST idea ever... Can you build out the Wildtrak with the 7 speed manual?? If yes, I may just keep it when it arrives 2 years from now tho... Serious idea tho, I like it ?
Well known that warranty reimbursement rates are meaningfully lower than regular, paid for work in Dealership Service Departments. Service Advisor chasing his/her sales quota for that reason hate warranty work. Obvious enough what management desires (tho there are incentives from vehicle...
The hood liner is available for ordering?!? :) Been trying for months to order (been calling dealer every month, perhaps time for next call)! Did you order online or from your dealer?
Kinda a wave, but parked next to a fellow Area 51 owner (but Badlands vs my Outerbanks) and ended up chit chatting for a bit. He bought his Badlands from the lot at MSRP (knew dealer so market adjustment was dropped, good for him!).
Anyway, biggest difference b/w his Area 51 Badlands vs my Area...
Did you ever resolve this? My BS has a random popping sound when on the highway at around 50mph and up. Seems to come from just behind the rear passenger side... (part of the triumvirate of sunroof squeak and headliner vibration rattle that BS has been contending with)
And another point on those engine covers... If you notice the spongy foam material - that apparently helps to address European pedestrian safety standard requirements (cushioning effect I guess)... Not a requirement in the US so they can totally take it out to save $$$.
Getting 28+ mpg in mixed driving after nearly 5k miles. What I expected (CRV or RAV 4 I believe get better mpg if that is the top concern - imho BS more fun) Did pop a K&N filter in there, but that doesn't provide an earth shattering difference :sunglasses:
One way to possibly address hood issue is applying dynamat-like material to its underside (have used product called RattleTrap)... Plan to do this as soon as hood insulators are back in inventory (will post pictures in thread on sound insulating BS).
Ah, yes, actually found the YouTube on that fix and tried it... Unfortunately didn't fix -> clue was with sunroof 1/3 open it still creaked with none of the seals making contact. Have actually tried that fixed twice thinking maybe wasn't liberal enough with the grease...
Anyway, another BS...
Indeed, back to the fit and finish Q! Overall, good. Have owned a Ford Edge (previous gen) as well as a Ford Escape (2 gen ago, when it was still nice and boxy). Tried to keep expectations tempered... Well a friend worked for a company where they had a small fleet of Ford Edges (current gen) and...
Would've been happy with "waterproof" cloth seats actually but the creature comforts of wireless charging and other items are very nice (have Carplay, but always liked built-in navigation vs having to play w/ phone). Even the co-pilot + with the adaptive cruise is appreciated - never liked...
