    Oil Change

other than taking the time to remove all the screws around the plastic/metal panels, it is really straightforward. Good luck,

I used a standard floor jack and jack stands to get under it. Never been a fan of those ramps, but if you like them, they should provide enough room to get under your vehicle.

yes plastic. pretty durable. The one on on my escape is now almost 9 years old and we have hit some pretty harsh road trash / tires / etc. and it has held up fine.

Your own 2" lift? care to share the details on that? We have been looking at the kits that are available and they look simple enough to do in a day / weekend. We are going with a bigger more aggressive tire pretty soon too. I really like the stance of yours. Very nice.

it is pretty much front and center of the engine. I will take some pics in the next few days of the under engine cover and where everything is located an post them in here.

Yes. 13 torx screws and 2 pushpins hold the under engine cover (I will post pics next time I am out in the garage). After removing the screws, it just slides off. My escape is the same way.

Thanks for the info. My thinking is....filter is obviously ok for the engine, but smaller in size. maybe the 1/4 of a quart of oil, less per vehicle multiplied by the 100s of thousand vehicles produced equals cost savings of "X" per year by going with a smaller filter from the factory.

    Oil Change

If you zoom in on the picture with the tools, you can see the Ford logo on the original filter. It's a Ford part. I have never seen a manufacturer use parts that, to me, seem inadequate.

the original filter was not even close, the new one does stick out a little further and the coolant line lays against it. No moving parts, but i plan on monitoring it to see if any wear marks form.

    Oil Change

The online part description and the owner's manual both call for FL-910-S, which I happen to have plenty of because that is what fits my Escape. I used 5-20 full synthetic for the oil. The tools are shown below in the picture. T-30 Torx driver for underbody cover screws (13x), 2 push pins need...

Nice little drive up the Natchez Trace from southern Tennessee to Middle Tennessee. We plan on taking the rest north where we left off. We will also be taking it further south with the plan of traveling the entire trace. Our family has really enjoyed the Bronco experience. Stopped in Columbia...

    Synthentic Blend to Full Synthetic?

I have always switched my cars to full synthetic after the first couple of break-in oil changes. I use the synthetic blend on the first change because it's a little cheaper and I change it quicker. On all my new cars, the first oil change usually 500-1000 miles (change oil and filter), then...

Carpet Protection Is a Must for me

I called multiple dealers locally and no one had the floor liners in stock. I found a set on ebay for about $150ish shipped. They are a great fit and really easy to maintain. Our BB came with the cargo area mat and seat back covers.

Bronco Sport Quality in Real Life

I guess the positive would be, if you wanted the black roof on yours, doing a wrap on it could give you the look you want with a cheaper option than repainting.

Bronco Sport Quality in Real Life

We have about 2200 miles on ours so far. I have no complaints whatsoever. It did take me a few days to get use to 3 cylinder sound though. It's a different rhythm to get use to. Seats are comfortable, and it is really fun to drive. I am loving the experience of people stopping and asking about...
