i tried the suction cup thing, but like all suction, it's a pain and doesnt stick well. so i went with something like this, works great: Just use "charlotte" pvc, its thicker.

I removed the antenna, but still get reception. Obviously that depends on how close you live to the signal. the stubby one is a great idea, just placed order!

short drive is ok, but bill g is right about the fumes. I rigged up a pvc ramp to get my 10" kayak on roof bc it wont fit otherwise.
