Others have reported and posted pics similar to yours over the years. It almost looks like something was spilled there as there also appears to be a lighter spot behind it and around the edges of the peeled section it has the same washed out appearance.

@Escape2Bronco and I are assuming you mean the variations in the OEM crossbars that you can purchase, and other 3rd party rails that attach the same way. These are Trim specific.

Depending how close to the factory warranty you are you might ask what the water pump warranty is on its own, or if it will just follow the factory warranty as well.
If you're under warranty then you are under 36k miles, so depending on how long you plan on keeping the BS you might look into...
I know. I didn’t realize they had changed the design with the new engines to allow you to change it by itself, without having to take apart anything else. My bad I didn’t realize that and I’m not as familiar with all the MY25 changes.
