  1. Personal Story - Deer Strike & Damage

I would leave Kerrville at 1:00 am and it would be non-stop deer sightings until I got out of the hill country. After several trips, my deer PTSD from driving in Wisconsin subsided although you’d still get a young one run once in a while. October - November…… all bets were off.
  2. Personal Story - Deer Strike & Damage

Especially right now, they are running and not even looking where they are going. Just following their nose. As shown below.
  3. Personal Story - Deer Strike & Damage

I don’t think many people realize how many deer are I Texas. Especially in the hill country. My grandfather had a ranch outside San Antonio and my parents retired in Kerrville in the 80’s. I’ve been going down there for years. After my father passed, I was going down every 6-8 weeks for...
  4. Your real world MPG?

My absolute best is 30 and my lifetime average is 23.3. I don’t really pay much attention to the computer but I think you are correct that it is normally higher than actual.
  5. Bronco Sport Off-Rodeo Moab Full Experience Trip Report 11/14/2025 (Long)

Nice write up. Great picture of the LaSalle mountains. Moab is one of my favorite places to go but it is getting kind of pricey to stay there even during the off season. There are plenty of trails that are just fine for the Sport. There are also plenty that are not so choose wisely. I’d...
  6. Personal Story - Deer Strike & Damage

Both Richland and Sauk counties are bad. Of course Dane isn’t much better. I got my last one on K just west of P Many years ago. My stepson just got one a month ago on P just south of 12. Maybe the herd will get thinned even more in the next few weeks! This little guy was out for an...
  7. Observations: my 2021 vs. 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands

Not sure. this has been the case with both the 2 door and the Sport. I’m getting mid 20’s with the Sport off road. Now, most of it is either crawling or reasonably slow. No Baja mode. If I’m on the highway with no bikes on the back I can get mid to high 20’s. With the bikes, it’s about...
  8. Farewell to our 2023 Outer banks Bronco sport

I’m guessing yours will be fine. Even my father’s 1999 was better than mine. They put heavily bolstered seats in the Lightning which when tilted back at the degree I liked, the headrests hit the rear window so I ended up sitting more upright than I liked.
  9. Your real world MPG?

You are absolutely correct. My mileage on the highway with two bikes mounted isn’t any better than in town without. I lose about 6 mpg with bikes mounted doing 75mph.
  10. Your real world MPG?

Unfortunately, the difference for us where I live is about 1.50 usd so I’d just be throwing good money away for extra performance I don’t really need. Not sure why you think it’s better for the engine unless your 91 octane is tier one and your 87 octane isn’t. The higher octane rating isn’t...
  11. Your real world MPG?

The Ford ECO boost engines are one of the few engines that will run fine on 87 but will see improved performance running on 91. I’ve always found the improved performance was normally worse as far as gas mileage. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the loose nut behind the wheel and the...
  12. Observations: my 2021 vs. 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands

I’m surprised your mileage goes down off road. I get my best gas mileage off road. Same with the full size on 35’s. I can get lower 20’s off road with that. On road at highway speeds, not so much. Bricks don’t make good fuel efficient vehicles.
  13. Your real world MPG?

For the past year I’ve averaged 23.3 with my 22 BSBL with the best being 30 on a trip up north in October.
  14. Farewell to our 2023 Outer banks Bronco sport

I had to look up a build. At 48k, it’s not much more than a fully equipped Sport. It’s hard to believe my 1995 Lightning had a sticker price of 19K and my 22 BSBL had a sticker around 36k or so. Pretty crazy that destination charges for a F150 is 2.6K. Does bring back good memories. The...
  15. Beer of the day thread

There was a time 40 years ago where a couple of friends and I were on a Weiss beer kick. We’d go to this old German bar and drink Hacker-pschorr Weiss beer and eat fresh hot pretzels. I had a Weiss beer more recently and wasn’t too impressed. Not sure if my tastes changed or it just wasn’t a...
  16. Wildpeak AT4W...mild regret

The AT3w’s are fantastic in snow.
  17. Say Hello and Introduce Yourself! ?

Flood is another good one as is Ziegler. Those three are the best as far as I know. I’m partial to Granger but I know the other two have good prices as well.
  18. Say Hello and Introduce Yourself! ?

If you plan on buying an extended Ford ESP warranty, I’d recommend getting it from Granger at 25.00 over their cost.
  19. Sync 4 Upgrade kit coming soon to a Bronco Sport near you from Infotainment!

I’ll have to check mine with it plugged in. I use a wireless adapter and have no issues switching back and forth although admittedly, I normally just leave it on CarPay as default. I can see where access to modify could go away being an issue but then, for me it’s a non-issue. Other than...
