Good question!
It would be nice to have the ability to calibrate the TPMS with a known accurate gauge.
FWIW, we have a relatively inexpensive aftermarket TPMS on our RV and it is spot-on.
I should compare the reading in the Badlands with my gauge. It may be accurate as-is.
Traitor! Infidel!! <j/k>
I've enjoyed your posts here on the BS Forum. I'm sorry you're leaving.
You seem like someone who can really use a full-size Bronco. Around here, and in many other parts of the country, few people truly have a need for a Bronco (or Trail Rated Wrangler...
Regarding NOCO -- when my brother and I were planning to install a maintainer on our parents' car, he forwarded me a link to a NOCO unit. I noticed a couple things:
a) "Ya want a steering wheel with that?"
At least with the unit I was looking at, NOCO did not supply both alligator...
Nice clean installation! As a technician, I would have been all about doing that -- 30-40 years ago.
It eliminates the need to open the hood to connect the maintainer. As I mentioned, it is good to check the oil, hoses, belt, etc., regularly -- but maybe not as often as a maintainer...
Nope.
100% synthetic is cheap insurance. In fact, full synthetic can be less expensive than some conventional oil!
I used Mobil 1 for the first 2 oil changes -- annually, because we do not drive much. That cost about $6.40 per quart (in 5 qt. jugs).
Recently, I bought four 5 qt...
I save the old oil filters as proof that the oil was changed.
That said, from personal experience working on cars for almost 50 years, and reading the car magazines and now in the last 20+ years, the forums -- engine trouble is exceedingly rare (assuming proper maint. and no abuse). Most cars...
Glad to hear it!
I see that above, you posted my comment (#8). Just to clarify, I linked to the Deltran (Battery Tender mfr.) website -- the list of all of their BT models.
NOCO is a different product. This is the mfr page for the Genius2D you ordered:

You may...
To add to my post above (#8) -- I just went out to the garage and checked the Badlands' battery voltage. It was OK, but not fully charged (<100% SOC). That's after:
* Starting a trip with a full charge (the BT had been connected).
* Being driven almost 25 miles on rural roads
* Auto...
Sandee,
As others have mentioned, a Battery Tender (Battery Minder is another brand) is a good idea with any vehicle, and particularly with yours since you are getting the low battery messages.
We use a BT on our Badlands (and on several other vehicles). In fact that reminds me, I need to go...
Good point, Zach. I don't think I've heard anyone else mention inflation in car repair costs as a reason to consider an extended warranty.
As you said, "We work with both Mopar and Ford extended warranties and both of them have many actuaries that determine our cost for their plans. The...
Needless to say, any answers you get here (including mine) are just guesses.
Right off the bat, one theory that has been around since before the internet is that if the ATF has not been replaced for an extended period, flushing the trans may do more harm than good. More recently I've read that...
Based on the description of the problem, yes.
Initially, with a fully charged (100% SOC) battery, everything would work fine, but if the charging system is not working properly, the new battery would become more and more discharged, and the problem would reoccur.
Have you driven any other Bronco Sports? If so, is the wind noise in yours louder?
If it is measurably louder, your issue may be covered under warranty.
Sounds can be difficult to localize. The source may not be the right rear.
"This also doesn’t happen when breaking only accelerating" -- indicates that the brakes are not the problem.
A drive belt OTOH will often slip and squeal when accelerating.
Of course it may be something else entirely...
I was wondering because while I usually am pretty compulsive about checking tire pressure, I had been slacking -- in part because of relying on the TPMS -- and when I checked them they were all about 28 psi. There was no low pressure indication.
Of course it can't be set for 31-32 psi...
I'm glad to hear you got a loaner, even though it is not the model you would have preferred.
Years ago, when I bought my 2002 WRX (same dealer we bought the BS BL from) it had several recalls (unusual for Subaru). They did give us a loaner each time (IIRC) but on one occasion it was a...
