Two dealers, two different transmission specialists at both and my 26K mile 2023 Heritage Limited still shifts rough at low speeds primarily (20-45mph or so).
I've had it documented as well but no fix, they keep telling me they can't find anything and have reprogrammed it twice.
I also have...
Haven't done my own on the BS yet. Subaru, MB, and BMW all have conveniently placed filters at the top/front of the engine bay. Ford OTOH maintains a regular subsidy to crappy dealers by making those filters such a PITA to get to that people don't want to do it themselves.
Yep. Poor design IMO. If I didn't know any better I'd think Ford put it there to make sure the QuickLube lane is subsidized. Shame there's no space to put in a relocation kit to a more convenient spot.
At this point I'm just used to high pressure canister filters on BMWs and MBs and spin ons...
I have used a similar one from Harbor Freight for years. Down through the dipstick to the base of the pan and pump it out. It is slower than pulling the plug but considering I don't have to run anything up ramps or put on stands, there's no belly pans to remove and I don't have to clean up...
You're not kidding. Throwing them up on the J's on the roof rack is getting harder and harder. Used to be I could do it myself, now I need a second set of hands if not anything to help guide it on. I have a 12ft Mad River Synergy and a 13.5ft Perception America but don't use them as much as I...
This was posted on the JT forums last week, around 11,000 ft headed up to Imogene Pass. This Gladiator is used by the crews that maintain the road as a fuel station. If they didn't wrap it, it's a good chance they'd come out to find it a permanent fixture in the scenery.
I wonder how long...
Good luck @Dantanman and congrats on the new car.
We're getting to be in a similar boat. The conversations here lately have gone from her saying "I'm keeping this forever" to "how long are we holding onto this damned thing?"
We're getting gremlins throughout, Sync is buggy, won't upgrade...
@OP:
Is your vehicle still under manufacturer warranty? If so, get in the queue for a replacement now. Ford dealers are 2-3 weeks out in my area for repairs, even if it's a minor one. I would also speak with the service manager (not advisor) and see if they can get you a dealer demo as a loaner...
Hey all, saw this on another forum and thought some folks here may be interested. https://air-cruiser.cinchpopuptents.com/
It's a hair under 113lbs all in so still a little above the 100lb max dynamic load for those of us with sunroofs but well below the 150lb max dynamic for those without...
I'm less enthused by government mandates on anything than manufacturers actually coming up with reasonably good UX on their own that differentiates their brands but I get where you are coming from. Backup cams are a great safety feature overall, just like ABS and generally speaking airbags.
HU...
I, for one, would love it if the manufacturers allowed the CarPlay-run Apple Maps/Waze info to be displayed in the dash cluster. I use Maps daily and though I get the turn notifications and all on my watch, it still requires taking my eyes from the road.
Pre-CarPlay, Mercedes would put their...
Certainly that has something to do with it, and generally those fines are recouped at point of sale further increasing the amount the consumer has to outlay, regardless of manufacturer, Government policies always directly contribute to price increases felt by the consumer.
But where CAFE...
Similar position on the Outer Banks.
And yes, you're 100% correct: The only reason Ford doesn't offer the 2.0L across the line is to keep CAFE numbers down.
Same reason why Jeep doesn't offer the 392 (or any other V8) in the Gladiator, and scores of other companies provide a lower-output...
QFT. It's certainly a capable little vehicle.
Considering the location and the overall popularity of these, especially in Northern salt-heavy states (we saw them EVERYWHERE in southern Vermont over the weekend), Ford may want to reconsider the placement of the ECM in the refresh, if not for...
I, for one, welcomed the "added fuel penalty."
Is the 1.5L adequate? Sure, just like the wheezy flat 4 in our 11 year old Subaru. It does the job but it isn't exactly BMW level performance either.
I just happen to like being able to accelerate quickly to merge into traffic and punch it to...
Bingo. Parts bin specials are not special. At least the Heritages got the white roof/special body colors and different seats/interior trim details exclusive to them alone. And we do get tons of compliments on the Yellowstone color everywhere we go.
That being said, I don't dislike the BS but...
My guess is you're seeing a Badlands trim package to compete with the Subaru Wilderness and every other manufacturer's tougher looking outdoorsy-themed CUV trims.
Only difference is the Subies and the Badlands are actually quite capable compared to everything else in their class.
QFT.
It would be something if Ford never offered it on any BS before, but that isn't the case. I spent $46K on a top of the line, fully loaded 2023 Heritage Limited and Ford would charge me close to $1K now in just parts to replace the items they included on the BASE models in previous year...
