I believe those Toyo's are only 29.5" and the stock Badlands Falken Wildpeaks are 29.1". My Maxxis 235/65r17 are 29.3" so not as much difference as you think.
Quite a few waves back, especially when they were more rare. I think you get more back when they're car people and realize were driving something more than just another car. Watch for an Area 51 Badlands in Wyo Country. I'll try to wave back (or first) :)
Yes stock tires but as far as I know they don't have the stock size XLs in 235s and I did not want to alter the stock vehicle with 245s. I've found very few tires that hold up to where I travel so we'll see on the Maxxis but at least I have the stock size and they're a lot better than the stock...
I liked everything about my Falken Wildpeak AT3W's except there ability to hold up off-road. After several flats that weren't fixable, I switched to Maxxis Raxr AT's. So far so good. Tire looks great. Not much road noise and holding great off-road so far. https://www.maxxis.com/us/tire/razr-at/
Unless you run into clearance issues the BS BL is pretty much unstoppable. Very composed with very little slip which is what you need in dangerous spots.
It's actually quite the opposite! I have had SO many people come up and tell me how much they liked my BS. I haven't had that many people starting conversations since the early days of my gen1 Raptor. Everybody loves it!!
So far so good. I still need a few rougher off-road outings to test them but light off roading so far is very good. Slight initial road hum has faded some. Overall, I love the look of them and they're looking like they'll be a great off-road tire with little on road trade off.
30,000 flawless miles on my 21 Bronco Sport Badlands. Love it!! Recently replaced the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's with Maxxis Razr AT Tires which so far are working great. Need a few tougher off-road tests to compare but I think they'll be much better with the tread they have. The OE Falkens had good...
Those are the slowest times I've seen.
Car and Driver had 5.9s 0-60 for the Badlands and 8.2s for the Outer Banks.
Motortrend was 6.5 and 8.5s.
The Badlands gets up and moves and for those of use that actually go off-road in challenging areas, it's a little goat!
Some parallels between the Bronco II and our BS. Unless you own(ed) one, you have no idea what they are capable of. My dad's buddy went every where in his Bronco II. He loved it and I remember how capable it was although when my dad let him drive our 68 Bronco, he realized there was another level!
Unless you own and drive a BS (especially the BL) off-road, you truly can't appreciate what this little machine can do! We know it but others have to see it and then they realize the BS isn't just a rebadged Escape (which I also owned). Ford did a really good job with our Bronco. I'd say the old...
Overall they work pretty good. Don't kick it as early as I'd like at dusk/twilight but overall it's only occasionally I have to manually override them (because they stay on a hair too long). Certainly want high beams on as much as possible in my area due to wildlife!
And I've always seen good mileage with the climbs and descents in the higher elevations. You don't lose that much going up if the wind is light and you more than make up for it going downhill. Elevations like you said were mostly in the 6-7K range. I've also found ethanol free gas to give me an...
Just did a 440 mile trip with several 1-3k climbs and decents. Most of the speeds were in the 70-75 mph range with some 80 mph time. Not much wind and ethanol free 91 gas. Average hand calculated 29.6 mpg. BS BL 2.0
I really don't care if you believe me or not. I'm just telling you what I'm getting. I've seen quite a few getting similar mileage. Not that hard to do. Drive normal, use eco mode, use start-stop and use ethanol free gas. I've found ethanol gas along with worth 1-2 mpg depending on the vehicle.
