  1. Off-Roadeo

Anyone hear anything about the Moab location? All I see is Texas as available.
  2. Completely Dead

If you get through to Ford, let me know the secret. I got stuck on hold (45 minutes on one call), passed around from person to person, and was promised several times I would be receiving a phone call in response to my issues and never did for my PCM issue. Over 5 hours on the phone over...
  3. Installing aftermarket speakers and sub in Bronco Sport!

It sounds much better. Now the question is, do I try to drive them with something to get the full effect. I would like to compare the Alpines with the JBLs I put in. I also still need to do the sub install. So I'll post more about putting in the sub. Hope your install goes well.
  4. Installing aftermarket speakers and sub in Bronco Sport!

First of all, thanks to the previous posters for all useful information. It made life so much easier. I am adding a bit to the knowledge base. I just installed JBL GTO 629 in the front and rear door speakers. I used the Metra brackets that the OP suggested in the front while drilling a 1/2"...
  5. Installing aftermarket speakers and sub in Bronco Sport!

I got a set of JBL GTO 629 and the rockghost I plan on installing this weekend or next weekend. I got the brackets the OP mentioned for the front doors. I'll keep you posted on how the install goes.
  6. Anyone familiar with Medano Pass Primitive Road at the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado?

I did it in my in my 2013 Evoque up to the 4th Creek Crossing. That vehicle had pretty similar capabilities to the BS BL. The water was fairly deep, which shouldn't be an issue, but if you have seen my other posts, you'll know why I am now very gun shy with this vehicle on water crossings...
  7. Order Guide Badlands "Removed Washout Floors"

They had advertised the 6 hidden floor plugs. I was going to look for them, but I guess I don't need to now. Too bad though, the fording height is above to door sill if you want to risk going in the water.

So Brody is up and running again. The PCM (ECU) and two harnesses were replaced. It was quite a job totalling 28 hours of tech time. Western Slope Ford got it done through warranty so my thanks go out to their team on a job well done. I drove it back home to Denver from Grand Junction without...
  9. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

The technician thinks it had been happening for a while.
  10. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

The dealer has me up and running. I am picking it up tomorrow. Since this is warranty I am told Ford won't give me the parts. The dealer (Western Slope Ford) is going to bat for me on this to work out the cost with Ford corporate. I hope this is the end of the saga for now. Not sure if I'll...
  11. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

I appreciate all the help. Sorry to hear about your issues. Could you get measurements on the ECU itself? I wasn't really able to see how the harness comes into the unit from your photos. I am getting help from the dealer too, but trying not to bug him too much with photo requests and keep him...
  12. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

It was on a public road thankfully. Here are photos of the obvious water intrusion. This ECU is mounted in a place that would be submerged during the advertised water fording depth, therefore the ECU must be designed for submersion. The ECU failed due to water intrusion. The corrison present...
  13. Installing aftermarket speakers and sub in Bronco Sport!

Great write up! This is something I want to do when I get my vehicle back. How does the new set up sound? Could you elaborate on why you did not like the sound of the spare tire sub? Did the wiring already exist in right rear of the cargo area for the sub?
  14. Moving your ECU

I think moving / checking seals is a good idea for all of that. The connectors for the ecu should be on bottom. Good for drips, bad if it isnt sealed.
  15. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

Over on the Facebook group I am seeing reports of Advance Trac and other errors coming up when driving in the rain. This is the same errors I saw when it died. I suspect the person who has these issues in the rain is also the connectors of the PCM.
  16. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

The dealer submitted it all the estimates to Ford for approval. They can't do anything until Ford approved according to the service manager. Apparently Ford can fine them if they do a warranty repair outside of approval. I contacted my insurance and hope they can put some pressure on Ford too.
  17. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

The dealer submitted it for warranty and now Ford is kicking it back and won't give a reason for it. The dealer's hands are tied. Does anyone have a Ford contact that can help me out? The customer service refuses to call me back after promising multiple times that they would.
  18. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

It was a state maintained road, so in this case AAA probably would have worked. Ford Roadside Assistance wilk take you 35 miles. I just forgot about it and wanted to talk to the company directly.
  19. Bronco Sport Badlands dies crossing 20" of Water

It is going to be covered under warranty. So far they are replacing the MCU (main computer unit?) and the engine harness. Amazingly they found parts. Now I have to wait to see if anything else got toasted once MCU and harness are replaced. They are chalking it up to the connector not being...

Thanks for the additional pictures! I am going to ask the dealer for pictures so we can compare.
