Yep, January 26 order date for me and I'm looking at a mid-May build and a mid-June delivery. Will be about 5 months wait all in. Frustrating for sure but I'm enjoying the "no payments' so far. :D
Except that Jeep has severely cramped headroom for guys 6'3", a long-in-the-tooth design and it's a Chrysler. They'll never be able to convince me that their quality is anywhere near up to snuff.
I'm 100% with you. Like many of us, if I had a bottomless wallet and Jay's Garage...I would have a Mazda CX-5 for around town, an Escalade for family road trips, and a full size Bronco for the bush. Given that I can only afford one new vehicle (and only have space for one in my garage!) I had...
To be fair, ANY car can go on a "dirt road". Hell a Corvette or Ferrari can drive down a gravel road, if one was so inclined. But there are VERY FEW suvs/cuvs in the Badlands price range that can do what it can do off-road...when you look at the dual clutch AWD system, ground clearance...
My reaction was pretty much the same. Nobody is saying the Baby Bronc is a 4Runner beater when it comes to offroading...but he didn't even give the BS a fighting chance. Starts up a steep icy incline in normal mode, comes to a dead stop in a foot of snow, and then switches modes and expects it...
Can't disagree with anything here...hope Ford is listening! Will be too late for me as I've already committed to the Badlands as the only 2.0 option...but Ford missed a big opportunity not offering the 2.0 in at least the Outer Banks version. I wanted all the luxury and all the power I could...
LOL, painful for sure mate. It's hard enough for me knowing that I ordered while production was in full swing. I give full credit to all you brave souls who pre-ordered before they even fired up the assembly line in mid-October...that's just a huge exercise in patience to commit to something...
Definitely a plus having this forum to wile away the time! I'm about 7-weeks post order date and my build date is still 7 weeks away, to say nothing of delivery time. It's madness.
Funny how perspective works though, hey? When you've been given a terminal diagnosis...six months flies by like...
Totally agree, Dave. We are all here presumably because we love the Bronco Sport and recognize that it does everything we need it to and want it to, on or off road. It's ridiculous to compare apples to oranges and say the apple is "bad" because it's not an orange.
If I had a Shelby Cobra...
Good news for me...my build date has moved from week of May 24 to week of May 10. I have almost all the extras so wont be surprised to see me bumped again.
ordered Jan 26th. BL + BL with grey roof, 360, tow
I'd like to see a water fording or rock crawling video from the perspective of the front-mounted camera! These POV shots from the cab are cool but I think it would look really neat to see what the front grill is seeing that much closer to the ground.
Definitely the tires could have been a factor. I think Car & Driver actually clocked one run at 5.9 secs and Motor Trend 6.5. Hell even in my very unscientific test drive I figured 6.8. My test unit had the Pirelli Scorpions and not the Falken Wildpeaks, so that could well be the difference...
