I’ve installed deer whistles on every vehicle I’ve owned since a deer totaled my 1994 Lincoln Town Car. I’ve not hit a deer since then.
Does that mean I won’t? I don’t know. But I have seen deer raise their heads as I was approaching them.
For $6 a pair I’ll continue using them but I’m not...
My wife has a 2033 big bend with 21,000 miles. Same two recalls and oil changes at ford dealership. That’s it.
we’ve driven it from St. Louis to Maryland and Nashville without issue averaging 30+ mpg. I’m 6 feet tall, weigh 235 and am comfortable and have plenty of room. Not the best for back...
FYI. My wife’s 2023 BS went in for a software recall two weeks ago. After 800 miles, all is well. It seems to run exactly as before the recall and still gets 27.6 mpg. Am I just lucky??
My 2021 explorer has the Pirelli scorpions from the factory. At 28,000 miles the still look almost new. The BS has the continentals and I doubt they’ll last 25,000. Go figure.
I’ve decided that on the next oil change I’m going to fabricate a piece to cover the hole I’m going to cut into the bottom shield. If it’s just for aerodynamics and mpg, I’m sure I can modify it for easy access to the filter and drain plug. I do like that it keeps the engine clean and somewhat...
I bought a new Silverado 2500 2wd in 2007 to pull my 5th wheel rv. After a while I installed a set of hummer h2 wheels and Toyo at3 tires. I was amazed. With 2wd I could go anywhere even in relatively deep snow and ice. Mud and dirt roads in campgrounds were never an issue. They were quiet and...
Well, I just finished the first oil change on my wife’s 2023 Big Bend with the 1.5 engine at 2100 miles.
Mixed feelings about it. It was very difficult to find a place to jack up the suv….no frame rails exposed. Finally jacked it on the frame rails near the front bumper and put jack stands...
Being old school, I changed the original oil at 2,000 miles. I used 5.3 quarts of mobil1 5w20 full synthetic and a Motorcraft filter. I’ll change every 4,000 miles or so.
Turbos are hard on oil and it’s relatively cheap compared to the price of the vehicle. I guess I could have saved $5 or $6...
I had a Nissan Maxima and loved it, but I wanted something more sporty. My daughter bought a jeep four door wrangler so I decided that’s what I’d get. Then I test drove one…..cramped, rode rough, terrible handling on the hiway, and I could not see out the back window (no backup camera on a...
Bought it in January and have 1400 miles so far. Absolutely no complaints.
I initially thought I wanted a 4 door Jeep...until I drove one. Jeep’s are cool but ride rough, handle poorly, and are impossible to see out of in the back with the spare tire. Seemed like a poor design for a daily...
Bought the Sport Big Bend. I had a 2014 maxima with 500 deductible collision and 250 deductible comprehensive. I added “keeper” to my policy (country ins) for $34 per 6 months and my total semi annual premium went up $7. I’m all good
Just picked up out new Bronco Big Bend. Love it...cool!!!
Stopped for coffee at a local coffee house and the folks went nuts...I think that one guy was more excited than we were.
ours is the 2nd one purchased in our county and everyone makes a big deal over it.
Anyway, it has the 1.5L engine...
