I was having this issue until I realized I was doing it too fast. I press the mic button on wheel and wait for the chime and then talk and it works every time.

I did XR Ceramic 30% on the rear to get a net 7%, did 20% on driver/pax and 5% on the windshield Strip. Altho CA only allows 70% on driver/pax, ive had tons of cops and bike cops next to me and no issues. I also don't drive like an idiot.
