If I didn't know better I would think that lots of people missed the 30+ page thread about the engine cover. I was just making a joke. Should have known I am never funny.
I probably would take the sport even if I hated it just to resell it in 6 months for a profit. My poor thread got a bit off...
Depending on who you ask and which studies you believe, letting an engine idle to warm up wastes more fuel than just letting it warm up driving. I have to assume that includes the estimated 12% loss of mpg when its cold. Wear and tear wise to the parts as more fuel is pushed into a cold system...
Well, I am not in for any money yet. If I don't have the great and powerful engine cover I will just take my money elsewhere. Its non negotiable.
Lots of good things to look out for in this thread. Thanks to all who replied :)
Now that my sport is on the train its time to find out what might be wrong with it before it arrives. I will be taking pictures of the engine, tires, panels, roof, hood, lift gate and all inside parts before I sign anything. Figure I should have a list of what might be wrong so I can be sure...
Got my shipped email at 4 in the morning today. Seems like they are a bit behind on updates seeing as how she was built on the 4th. The arrival date of the 25th-31st is still the same. Could just be a direct train and she has been waiting in a rail car for 9 days.
I cant see the dealer...
I spent ten years saving to do the same. When I ordered it the first question they asked before starting any paperwork was how I would pay for it. Maybe they didn't like my my little pony shirt. Some people are like that.
I might have dreamed it but off the top of my head I want to say the cms has two positions. The higher one should allow for a full size spare. Its been quite awhile since that topic was posted, if it ever was. Someone who has their sport in hand would know.
Got an updated window sticker for my sport. 12/1 to 12/9 Not that it matters as she was finished being built on the 4th. Now its the 9th and still not shipped. Someday...
If the first window sticker is just being told its built today in an email with a December delivery date it seems likely the first train hasn't left yet.
That said, I live in ga with the same delivery window. Should look at a rail line map I guess. There is probably a track that runs in the...
Just checked the tracker. Went into production the 29th. Just changed to built this morning. Interestingly the tracker still estimates arrival 12/31. That will probably change when its shipped. Still, one step closer :)
Can skip all that which is good. Paying the full amount up front with a check and don't need any of that stuff you mentioned so I should be good to go. The waiting is the hard part. Soon TM.
In the tracker page that says its in production it will say. Mine didn't until it knew. Will be under vehicle details.
Also, Its alive! Just checked the ford pass app and its now letting me active my sport. I just need to be at the sport and start the engine... That might be a problem.
Congrats, but odd. My sticker has said in production since 11/29 with estimated delivery in Georgia on the 30th. Sure its just an estimate but unless the train comes across the south and then north I cant see Ford making the delivery date if my sport isn't even finished yet.
I suppose they...
I suppose I just wont get anything right away. Will have the year for things to break and be fixed at 100% and by then I will know if I want to keep the sport or sell it. If I keep it and hear about major parts breaking I will get the premium care from a dealer online. Everything else I can...
Fortunately the company I work for is an x-plan member. The dealer signed off on the x-plan price and gave me a copy. If they try to change the price of anything on me I can be Gandalf and firmly tell them their changes cannot pass and bang on the table hard enough to shake the roof down :)
Thanks. That's good to know. I watched the video on that site. The only thing I don't understand is why Ford has such a warranty. If its not a rusted out dented hulk is it a real ford?
I don't like payments so I will be paying the entire cost right away. A no deductible premium care package is about 4200 bucks or so I think I read. One site I found in my search about the factory warranty said only the first year is covered 100% and down to 30% for the third year. They admitted...
