We did Outlaw today as an out-and-back. The only place I switched out of "normal" was where there were some stairsteps that I thought could use a little help. There were a few Jeeps spectating, and I didn't want to embarrass us.
This trail was pretty well-suited to the little Bronco, we...
I debadged mine, including the "Bronco" and "Sport" on the gate. Blacked out the "Bronco" on the grille as well - I felt that the white was obnoxious.
I think the gate needs something to balance the "Ford" badge on the driver's side, I may install a Badlands sticker on the passenger's side...
I got this frequently when I was on a long camping trip - didn't run the engine for a couple days, but in and out if it with the constant cycling of the electrical system every time I touched a door. I was out on a long hike the first time I got the message, and thought, "gee wouldn't it be...
One day soon, all pedestrians will know they can just walk out in front of almost any car, stopping traffic with impunity. The only thing that keeps people using crosswalks and obeying the signals in a lot of cities is the fear of getting run over. Once these safety systems are commonplace...
Sooo... when do the 35's go on?
Nice work, looks great and staying even close to stock ride quality is a huge bonus. But in all seriousness, I can't wait to see it with some larger, more aggressive tires.
A default mode option would be a nice touch.
If I had the option to set it up totally custom, I'd like to have the "eco" mode a counter-clockwise dial twist from my default of "normal", and a clockwise twist from "normal" would arrive at "sport" on the first click.
This is all very simple to...
Nice. I'm waiting to see what happens with the BL lift - driveline issues and what is done to compensate. This looks like a very clean, better-than-OEM system so far, definitely on the table for me in the near future if alignment and driveline wear can be addressed.
My guess would be the fuel pump, I haven't noticed it on mine. I'll listen for the sound you describe next time I start it. This thing makes so many clicks, whirrs, beeps, and boops, you'd never know if something was wrong.
Thanks for the detailed writeup and photos. I'm not at the stage where I'm ready to do an audio upgrade yet, but this will be valuable info for anyone going down the path in the future. Hats off for blazing the trail.
ROK straps... well, they rock. Worlds better than bungees.
For something a little heavier, I like RollerCam straps - they don't generally cinch down as firmly as a ratchet strap, but also less bulky and store compactly. An improvement on the ubiquitous cam buckle strap...
I love the look of the "steelies", and if I had ordered a Sport, that's what would have been on the list. But the one on the lot had the mags, so I'll live with them - it wasn't a deal breaker.
They came through camp literally every morning, and some evenings too. They are almost prehistoric, and definitely unpredictable. You like to know that there's something solid between you and them, even if they appear relaxed and know you're there. Glad I didn't have to find out how the Sport...
Awesome economy! Best I've managed on a tank is 32-ish, but that is at 70-85 mph with the odd "indescretion" here and there to pass traffic. Average is closer to the 26 advertised, but I'm thrilled to even be anywhere near the EPA estimates.
Yeah, I could see the miles to empty going down as it idled. I don't think it quite works out to even coasting down a hill vs. lugging up it, but there is a certain measure of offset. You're burning gas in either direction, just a lot more on the uphill trip. If gas went back in your tank as...
Just got back from 21 days camping in Colorado, sleeping in the little Sport every night. Not too bad considering I'm used to an Excursion, which is like taking a medium-sized NYC apartment along with you.
My only complaint was entering "deep sleep" mode a couple times due to infrequent use (3...
