The led light needs to draw enough current. Some don't. Some have an ambient light sensor so they don't activate in the day. Cover the sensor with tape.
You can try with a heat gun or hairdryer on hottest setting first. Heat a bit, then hit it with cold water or the co2 from an upside down compressed air can. Might work. Some of my hail damage came out on a hot sunny TX day.

Definitely, the factory is specifically designed for the frequencies. I just removed mine so the factory wouldn't be in the way. I really don't care about reception. I use my phone for all my vehicle entertainment.
Reception sucks with the Stubby, but who listens to the radio anyway. I put the stubby on just so the stock won't get in the way of anything I have up on the rack.
She went through her first hail. Not good. Aluminum hood got peppered along with the whole top from front to back. Even the flat tops of the doors got dented. My wife's 2017 Mercedes came out with 3 tiny dents you could barely see and popped out the next day when the sun hit it.
Plug a little LED nightlight in the AC outlet in the back (if you have one), and you won't need to disable it on startup. There are other threads about this.
