Picked up my 2021 Big Bend last Thursday night. It came in beautiful condition with 15k miles on it. This weekend I will be starting my upgrades to it to make it my own.

So far en route I have:

1. Set of BFG K02's.....245/65/R17's going on tomorrow. Complete
2. Rough Country 20in LED bumper kit
3. Rough Country 40in Roof Mount LED
4. Rear Spoiler
5. Rubber Bronco Sport floor mats front and rear
6. Black overlays for the rear emblem
7. Black bronco for the tailgate
8. Updated front/rear speakers
9. Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10
10. I love the aftermarket tail lights everyone hates so they are EN ROUTE
11. Hood scoop!!!!
12. Carbon fiber interior trim.
13. Front windows 35% tint Complete
14. Rear bumper cover
15. Steering wheel cover (red and carbon fiber)
16. Red interior accents
17. Bronco emblem on dash.
18. Cup holder inserts
19. Nerf bars
20. 25mm wheel spacers

I think this build and this car will be a lot of fun. I daily drive a Mazda 6 and just sold my BMW X3.

I think this build and this car will be a lot of fun. I daily drive a '17 Mazda 6 and just sold my BMW X3.

Very nice. I drive though Knoxville TN every other Monday morning 6 am-ish heading home to North Carolina. If you see a grey Big Bend it may be me.

Broke in the new shoes tonight. Went to see my son play highschool football in Bristol and back to Knox. 28.6mpg with the K02’s. Not going to complain about that!

What a day. Got a large shipment earlier this week of the hood scoop, the spoiler and a few other items.

Went out to Home Depot to get a few tools this morning and came home to:

Brought everything in and decided to start on the spoiler. Finished that up along with the rubber bumper cover and the Black Bronco emblem.

While working on that there was another visitor....

After finishing up with the back, I started on the hood scoop.

Install was fairly simple. Did require me to call the lady to help lay the scoop after I had applied the adhesive. This was simple after doing the pre-work and a grease pencil to make my marks.

After a break to catch a bit of football it was back to the back and some interior items...

Returning to the back I began to lay the black overlays.

Really like the look this brought out. Not pictured is the removal of dealer license plate frame and replaced with my Crossfit gym's.

Then turned my attention to the interior. Carbon fiber and red accents with the addition of a Bronco emblem on the passenger dash. Also the cup holder Broncos

Last thing I did today was start on the Nerf bars. Let me tell you. I've installed quite a few sets of those on various vehicles and this was by FAR the DUMBEST mounting procedure I have had to follow. Got done with the drivers side bar and ran out of light.

Tomorrow will finish it and start on my LED light bars. Depending on how that goes we may dig into audio!

Today whooped me. It was hot out!

Started the day by finishing the install the nerf bars:

To my surprise, as I was finishing up my tail lights arrived a day early. Super easy install. Less than 15 min total. Really like the look with the red. Lights are very bright when on, but I didn't get any photos.

After lunch, tackled the 20in Rough Country bumper light and 40in roof light. Install wasn't bad at all. I ran the switch wires through the grommet in the door instead of the one behind the battery. I will do the same when I run power to the sub tomorrow.

Tomorrow is audio day! Did take a test drive with the lady for ice cream. Love this thing.

Will do! I thought the quality of them was pretty good. Wires were neat, fit was good. Kept the OEM ones just in case though!

Today was audio day. This is quite possibly the worst radio I have had in a car so I needed a little more oomph. Maybe the decades of playing live music has killed my ears, but trying to clearly hear music with the windows down in this car was a challenge.

Here's what I went with after speaking with Crutchfield:

Hertz DCX 170.3 6.75in speakers in all four doors.

For these to fit I needed Metra 72-5602 wiring harnesses and Metra 82-5605 speaker mounting brackets. The brackets must be modified by cutting out the notches if you go with this speak size. Easy to do and in the included instructions.

Door panel removal was simple, despite Ford using three different bolt sizes throughout each door panel.

The difference in the factory speakers and the ones I installed....

I also installed a powered sub., I went with the Rockford Fosgate P300-10.

I placed this in the cargo area. For the main power, I ran from the battery and through the driver door grommet as I did with the lights. I routed to the back via the paneling on the driver side.

Crutchfield sold me a LOC which I am returning. After research, I just went with the High signal. I did this by tapping into the speaker wires in the drivers side B Pillar. I ground to the rear seat bolt and pulled 12V power from the wiring harness under the spare tire. The power wire is a purple/red thick wire in the harness.

Here is the final install, secured with the provided velcro strips.

After all the hard work of the past few days, I am finally done (FOR NOW). It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. I love the hard work I put into it myself. Its beautiful to me, functional for me, and sounds incredible!
