I'm not an engineer, either. Heck, I'm not even a tech. I'm just a car salesman who likes to tinker and has learned a thing or two in the process. However, I have no idea why these vehicles make clicking noises. I thought it was abnormal until I saw other owners reporting the same thing on the...
Note that thread is specific to overcome over the air updates not installing due to the 12v battery not meeting the parameters of the algorithm set by Ford to have them safely install. So it is last resort in the particular case of not getting an update to install. I referenced it because...
I have access to Ford's dealer website called PTS; also known as OASIS. Anyone can buy access. 3 days is $27 and a year is about $2500.
88% is fine. I do the same as you. I put my Fords on a charger once a month to top it off. These newer vehicles put s heavy strain on 12v batteries; Sync 4...
Not ready for release yet.....that much I can tell you. Until the finish developing the GenieMax that would allow the GWM to properly communicate with the APIM so that all the features work, they will not be realesing it.
@logant Got your message, but responding here for the sake of the info being out there. As suspected, it is the PCM code that triggerred the hard fault. Notice how it changed from an active fault at 6:55pm to a stored code during the next key cycle. The fault type of 01 means general...
Tbh, I don't know. As I mentioned above, I am not sure what effect (if any) the BMS system will have if the BCM is configured for one type of battery and another type is used. Based on my non-expert knowledge of the differences between a flooded battery and an AGM one, I don't see why it would...
FORScan is the only way a DIY user can reconfigure the BCM to reflect the battery type being used.
BMS reset can be done without FORScan. You just turn on the ignition (key on; engine off), flash the high beam 5 times and tap the brake 3 times and you will see the battery icon in the cluster...
Hard to tell from a stored code, but if your Fordpass account is connected, message me the VIN and I can pull the connected data to see what it reported to the cloud the day it happened.
Kinda correct; the BMS will reset itself after 8 hours if certain conditions are met. Vehicle has to be left in total sleep mode and untouched. You cannot pull it up in Fordpass; you cannot unlock it or even get the keys within 25 feet of the vehicle, and you cannot have anything plugged into...
All of those are stored codes and not active faults. The last two digits in the DTC is the status byte. When the status byte ends in an 8, it means the code is recorded in the vehicle's history, but not an active fault. Hard to say what triggerred the light to come on the dash, but whatever...
Iceland is next on my list.
I went to Japan last January. 2 week trip and it wasn't enough. We stayed in 4 different cities, took bullet trains to get around and still didn't get to see everything we wanted it. I didn't get to see Hiroshima. It was beyond awesome, but get ready to do a lot of...
Legally? None that I know of......but many states do not require emissions inspections to renew the tag/registration, so you can get away with it in some states.
Pull the ab data from your IPMA with FORScan, convert the file to txt and post it or send to me via message. I doubt I'll be and to dig through it until Sunday, but I'll look to see if I see anything off.
