I've seen vague references to the "Dana lubricant" and have read that it is 75W just like the Motorcraft XY75W disconnect rear drive fluid. I wonder if it was developed with Ford. I have not seen the Dana fluid being marketed.

At my last service I was told my rear shocks are leaking, I have not verified for myself. Unfortunately other than OEM the aftermarket offerings are few for direct replacement.

If you are an Amzoil person they have Ford spec lubricants for the PTU and transmission but not the RDU. Amzoil also offers engine oils and filters. Redline also has lubricant for the PTU. As of yet I have not seen a cross reference for Motorcraft 75W disconnect fluid for the RDU.

RDU uses Motorcraft XY75WQL disconnect rear drive unit fluid. PTU uses Motorcraft XY75W85QL synthetic hypoid gear lubricant. Use can use other manufacturer's lubricants as long as they meet Fords specs/requirements.

Looking up Ford parts, it looks like the 2025 MPC 1.5 engine still has the belt driven oil pump.

I've had my Badlands dealer serviced for the past 4 years going on 5 and find the cost very reasonable. Though I have not had any big repairs other than needing to have the 4WD module replaced, Ford did a good will gesture for that.

Here's a teardown video of the 1.5 Dragon from a Bronco Sport, the wet belt in that engine didn't look to healthy, I think whoever owned the vehicle was not to keen on the maintenance.

I read a post on the Maverick forum that had the same P0096 error code and Ford said they would not cover the sensor because of some minor minor damage and wanted almost $800 dollars as well to check it out. In that incident the owner replaced the sensor themselves and it fixed the problem.

In the profile it lists the Sport is a 2024 Big Bend. Are you past 36k miles for the bumper to bumper warranty, if not the sensor would be covered under warranty. Otherwise the sensor is cheap enough to replace it yourself and if it doesn't work out you'll only be out about $20 dollars.

It's best to take your Sport back to the dealer and have have it scaned for codes to find the cause of the errors. Unfortunately you'll likely have to pay a diagnostic charge, depending on the outcome it could be waived.
