  1. Snowmageddon is Here Again. Post Your Snow Pics

When I worked for the US Forest Service, some of the District guys would get a 4'x8' piece of 1/4" plate steel and put it in the bed. Worked great for traction. One guy was trying to weld on it and the diesel fuel that had been spilled over the years and settled under the plate caught on fire...
  2. Bronco Sport Badlands - Lift Options

I have a 1-1/2" lift, and put on 235/70R17 tires. The tires add 1". I've been very pleased about how capable it is off road. We don't get much snow here, but it handles desert washes like a champ.
  3. 2025 BS felt liners in front wheel wells

Someone else wrote about a spray on product that kept the snow and mud from sticking. I don't recall what it was, but if you search the forum, you can probably find it.
  4. Under Body Liner

There is a fuel pump or filter under it. I ripped my fake skid plate the first time I took it off road. If you drive in ice, which I assume you do, it might be worth your time to install a real skid plate. I also put a skid on my catalytic converter after driving on a rutted snowy road that...
  5. No Outback Wilderness for me - Changed my mind (new here)...

The BS is a box, and the slower you go, the better the gas mileage. I average 25 mpg overall, but I don't often drive over 75 mph. When I drive on backroads, I can sometimes get 30 mpg. When I pulll my trailer, the mileage drops quickly.
  6. Mini Road Trip (Tucson)

If you didn't hit the Sonoran Desert Museum, you need to go back. Best zoo I've been to. If you looking for trails, go east on Reddington Road, and a bunch of good trails go south from there.
  7. Getting ready for March... Carrying 400 lbs of maple sap

I've hauled 50 gallons of water in mine. I worried a bit about an accident that would push the tank up through the seat (and me) so I ran a heavy duty ratchet strap around the front of the tank and back to the two tie downs in the back. I taped the strap to the front of the tank to keep it...
  8. Shout out to Discount Tire

I replaced my Falken Tires in October with 235/70R17 Wrangler Workhorse AT's. So far, I've been very happy with them. Last weekend on a desert javelina hunt, I punctured a sidewall by running over a creosote bush. My low tire pressure light came on just 2 miles after I got on pavement. I...
  9. 2022 Badlands on stock tires vs ice covered 20% grade

I believe the stock tires are Pirellis on an 18" rim. The optional tires for the Badlands are Falkens on a 17" rim. I was very happy with my Falkens. Although I only drove in snow a few times, they always performed flawlessly, and did well off road as well.
  10. Jack locations?

I have two sets of ramps. Makes oil changes a breeze.
  11. Let's share your Road trip experience!

Southern Utah is spectacular. My wife and I took my old Jeep Liberty and a canoe and toured for a week in June. We would go to the National Parks during the day and go up into the mountains for cool camping and fishing in the evenings. One of the best trips I've ever taken. Lake Powell is...
  12. Drained my batteriy

I think you need to have your alternator tested. You didn't say whether your commute is stop and go or highway, but I would think that 20 minutes each way would be enough .
  13. Drained my batteriy

Short trips in the winter (with lights on more) tend to run down a battery. If I'm not driving much, I have to put a charger on it every month or so in the winter. I park my Superduty outside, and leave a solar panel (with charge controller) on the dash. The small 5w panels won't charge your...
  14. I wanted to share something helpful

Thanks for the explanations on the oil spec. Costco oil is less expensive, so I'll probably get that for my next oil change.
  15. Ford Dealership refusing to repair active recalls.

RW Norris, I've had very good luck with Melloy Ford in Los Lunas, NM, they really seem to care about the customer. I've had o.k. service at Power Ford in Albuquerque, but they are much busier, so everything takes longer.
