  1. Cyclists - platform vs hanging hitch rack?

I bought one of the Thule hitch mounts similar to this, except mine only holds two bikes: https://www.thule.com/en-us/products-_-9043pro I bought mine on Craigslist, and I got it at a reasonable price. It has a release that lets you open the liftgate without removing the hitch.
  2. New IPhone

    Thanks, that is what happened.
  3. New IPhone

I replaced my IPhone 14 with an IPhone 17. I deleted the iPhone 14 from my radio but when I try to add the IPhone 17, it still shows up as the IPhone 14. Did I screw up somehow?
  4. GMRS Handheld Recommendations?

I got these Retevis GMRS handhelds for kayaking. They actually float if they fall out of the kayaks.
  5. Changed Brakes, Now I have a plethora of warning lights

I think that Ford transitioned to a different way to compress the brake calipers that requires a special tool that turns the caliper as it compresses. My old Miata and my 2013 Escape had the same setup. That could explain your problem with poor clearance. Did you have the swollen nuts...
  6. Anyone install Fitcamx?

Has anyone installed a Fitcamx 4K car cam in their BS? These are supposed to look OEM for various car models and just replaces a plastic piece in front of the mirror.
  7. puttling climate conroles onto the screen

I added climate control data as well. It actually creates a separate tab for Climate on the main screen. My old Ford Escape came with this feature but you have to add it to the BS.
  8. Battery Tender Time, Anyone with Install Advice/Suggestions/Pics?

I installed an SAE pigtail on my Porsche and run the connector out near the wiper arm. I cut leads to correct length and crimped some ring terminals. That should work fine for the BS as well. I also installed an Ancel BM300 Pro battery monitor on my BS, 350Z, and Boxster. These use bluetooth...
  9. Black plastic bumper repair / spot touchup with Bumper Coater spray (SEM 39293 Honda black)

If you use SEM paints, then this may of interest to you. I have a Nix Mini 3 color match scanner that works great for household paints and will tell let you scan a wall or a piece of furniture and then identify a paint and color that would be an exact match or close to an exact match. I...
  10. Your real world MPG?

I am doing 24.5 mpg on my 2023 1.5 engine. That is comprised of city/ highway traffic. Total miles is 8750.
  11. What other car/transportation projects are you working on?

Many projects: For my 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid, I am replacing my rear shocks and ball joints. For my 2014 Porsche, I am upgrading lighting with LED lighting on LED beams, lighting on the floor, and Porsche puddle lights.
  12. Add Auto-wipers?

Check FORSCAN, the rain sensor capability may be built into the car already but just needs to be turned on.
  13. These are Great!

I have used these for about 25 years but surprised that so many car owners and shops are not familiar with them. These work on most car fluids including washer fluid, anti-freeze, and oil. With these, you do not need funnels and the shut-off valve on the end give you total control over the...
  14. MPG Issue Resolved

For the last year my 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid mileage dropped to about 18.2 mpg. The hybrid system was working properly so issue had to be related to the engine. I try to do DYI for most of maintenance, so with no codes I decided to replace my fuel injectors rather than clean them. After...
