Hi Mark,
Just "to close the loop" - 6 weeks after sending a letter to Ford customer relations, with a copy of the invoice of the battery that I replaced myself before the recall was issued, I received a reimbursement check in the mail today. Thank you Ford!
Hi Mark,
I started having a problem with my 2021 BS BL battery in March of 2024 – it wouldn’t hold charge even after connecting it to an external charger for long periods of time and I had increased safety concern about driving the car. In June 2024, not realizing yet that there is a known...

I included a sound recording in it - if it sounds similar, it could be (as Mark S also suggested) the radiator's cooling electric fan going bad.
My fan was replaced...
Have the battery tested for its ability to be charge at a local Autoparts store (if available)
I don't know how old your battery is, but its ability to hold charge depends, among other factors, on its age and the surrounding

I replaced the battery with an EverStart Platinum AGM battery in June last year (and installed it on my own) because the original battery "died" at 24K miles and would not hold any charge. I will contact Ford customer service, as you suggested, to find out what is their resolution...
Hi Mark, This thread has become so long, so because of the risk that someone already posted the same question(and may be already answered) I know that you are the best source to answer my question: What is Ford's remedy, if any, to people like myself, that had to replace the battery on their own...
Thanks - That would have been my next choice :like:
Just checked with my Ford dealer - it is covered by the "premium extended warranty" that was included with my purchase of the used 2021 BS from that dealer, 2 years ago.
So, I guess it would depend on what coverage you still have.
The general consensus, in this very long thread, was that all the previous remedies were “hit and miss” at best, and that is why I, as probably many others, never took it to the dealer for repair, assuming that it did not present a safety risk. This last one appears more promising. The only...
