Update: Ford is covering the paint wearing issue, and replacing the defective battery hold down hardware under warranty. It took me having to talk to the service manager to get it done. I'm happy that Ford is covering the issues.

Thanks for replying, it appears that this issue is apparent on multiple trims. I assumed the trim was different on the other models.

Thank you to everyone who replied! Hopefully, those of you who are experiencing paint wear issues are able to get it resolved with Ford quickly.

This might have been installed to keep the inside of the door cleaner and reduce some road noise.
