Perhaps. Depends entirely on the frequency response of this ChassisEars device. Their spec sheet was very sparse on key specifications I would be interested in understanding for an audio based device. If it does indeed pickup and amplify the 13.8 kHz noise though, then they should be able to use...
True, I should probably do that. I would also turn off auto start-stop then.
I see you have a 2025 BS BL (this should have the same EBB as my 2026), if you pop your hood, do you hear the same high pitched sound after unlocking/waking up the vehicle?
Shot a video in the hood. You can see the 13.8 kHz tone start up as soon as I hit the unlock button on the fob.
The headlight fans turn off at around 0:55, but the annoying high pitched noise is still present. My phone actually picked up the noise pretty well, at about 1:20 when I move my...
I thought about that, but I think unpowering the EBB alone may cause the car to throw a bunch of errors. Don't want to risk that. I will certainly point the tech towards a process of elimination scheme like that though once it is at the shop though.
I've got an interesting update. Went to a different dealership, the sales lady came over to my car and took a listen, and could indeed here the noise in my car!
We then walked through the lot to a different Bronco Sport, and found it to still make the noise, but MUCH quieter than mine. We...
Maybe I’ll try a different dealership. Although I’m not hopeful that there is a fix due to being able to hear the same tone in the Maverick videos.
It may just be a poorly designed part. Likely scraped by their qualification due to being a sufficiently high frequency that most people cant hear...
Ok, I'm getting quite sure now it's the particular electric brake booster making this high pitched noise.
Part Number: SZ1Z-2005-C
In these links, there's some videos of two separate guys complaining about a clicking noise in their braking. I don't have this particular clicking noise issue...
I tried to bring it to the dealership, but three (predictable) things happened:
They did not understand the audio frequency spectrum graph I showed them, pinpointing the problem frequency to 13.8 kHz
They could not hear the noise themselves due to their age
They thought I was crazy and hearing...
Hello,
I just bought a new 2026 Bronco Sport Badlands with the 2.0L - overall I'm really enjoying it, but there are a handful of small issues, the most annoying one being a persistent annoying tone audible in the cabin at all times. I've started digging into its origins, and I think I know...
