Recently I have seen several bronco sport owners ask questions about aftermarket exhaust systems. We have owned our sport for 11 months and have 21500 miles on it. There are three companies making the add on exhaust…all designed to give more of a throaty sound with out being a fake sound like when in sport mode. I went with the MBPR system like I have on my F150. It is about 1/3 the price of the other two. They claim an improvement in mileage as well…time will tell. The Chrome tips can be mounted for looks or for those of you that do trails or rock climbing They can be mounted high.

I do not have any sound clips but I love it. You can go to their website and they have 3 sound bits.

Andy, I just googled MBPR exhaust for a 2021 Bronco Sport 2.0 and 1.5 and it came up with two videos of sound clips

Jtnewton7814…this system not does not effect the catalytic Converter . All the legal stuff remains intact as it should.

Was going to purchase one but don’t want to be ticketed. Read cops are cracking down on people due to the clean air act that was passed. Better make sure they are legal in you State before purchasing one.
How are cops going to tell the difference...maybe the moded exhaust produces pure oxygen...

What's the actual attraction to modifying these little Bronco Sports so much? It's a friggin 3 or 4-cylinder and sounds even more gutless than stock with an exhaust. I can't wrap my head around it. Out of everyone that I've shown exhaust clips to, not a single person (car and truck guys included) sees a reason or thinks it sounds good.

I think people need to step back and realize what the hell these Bronco Sports really are.

But that's like...my opinion, man.

YMMV.

This will get you an easy ticket up here in Ontario…not to hard for a visual inspection either!

I feel the same way about a lot of the stuff I see people on here tacking on to their BS. It's not for me but hey, it's their ride.

I like the way it looks with the exhaust tips coming out the back verses facing down, just my opinion. But agree the extra sound it produces is a minus. I read it’s suppose to increase horsepower by 10% as well.
I would not believe any claims regarding power increases without independent dyno testing to prove it. The most restrictive part of the exhaust system on turbocharged engines is typically the downpipe leading to the catalytic converter. Any changes you make to the exhaust system behind the cat will not significantly affect exhaust flow in the downpipe. Nor would you want it to. Turbine RPM in the turbocharger is controlled (in part) by the amount of back pressure in the downpipe. If you reduce pressure in the downpipe enough the turbine will spin faster which can result in wear-induced premature failure.
