Android Auto Maps 3D image

So, shortly after I picked up my 2025 Sport Outer Banks and hooked up the Android Auto, it gave me the option to have the maps show 3D, that shows buildings and such, so I choose to do that. Fast forward, a few days ago I upgraded my phone, it was a Samsung 24 Ultra and now I have a 26 Ultra. When I hooked up the new phone, it didn't give me the 3D option.
Can someone tell me how to make it 3D?

Don’t know about 3D in Android Auto but here is info for 3D In Google Maps (open Google Maps on the phone):

Click on your name icon in upper right

Settings > Navigation
Select 3D

Open google maps on your Samsung 26 Ultra .. look in upper right corner for the icon I referred to and click on that

Thanks for that info!! This is mine is showing. I'm wondering if I need to change a setting in my Sport, unless there's another area I'm missing.

If one uses Google Maps ... with it showing, tap on the compass indicator (the red arrow that points to North, upper left side of the Maps display). Doing this shifts the Maps display through 3 different options, one of which is the 3D "in the direction of travel," the 2D "North is up," and a 3rd option I cannot remember off the top of my head. Waze uses a different system & I think you set it in the settings. This is NOT for the Ford Navigation maps, that another post documents.

So, my Google Maps is updated. While doing some more investigations, I saw that even through my car's screen,

So to make a long story short, turned out I had to change the settings on my new phone to satellite!

That’s interesting because I read with the latest Google Maps 3D update, the layers can be left in Default mode as Satellite mode isn’t needed (and mode should have been the same on the new Samsung 26 Ultra as on the Samsung 24 Ultra)

And the 2nd pic states satellite view (and traffic view) is 2D: “Adjust the level of map detail for roads, buildings, and more when driving in certain cities. Traffic and satellite views are only available in 2D.” (I have an iPhone with Google Maps Version
26.13.6.8883596180)

Just curious, does your Google Maps on your android show the Ask Maps new feature ?

(It was posted earlier the 3D update is a separate update from Ask Maps feature … I just received the Ask Maps feature a few days ago)

The new Immersive Navigation is rolling out across the U.S. and availability will expand over the coming months to eligible iOS and Android devices, CarPlay, Android Auto and cars with Google built-in.

Might take awhile for Nebraska to get Immersive Navigation

And that was the immersive 3D I thought you were referring to but your android has had various 3D features for awhile now
