Ive done a couple of lift kits to generally know what to do. And have definitely caught on pretty quick on how to slap them on in a day and call it. But my BS was NOT like that at all, I spent a good 6 hours mangling around the strut and to line up with the spacer and strut mount. I JUST finished my driver side and have called it for the night. Was user error or was this just unreasonably tedious for some of yall too?

I did my Bilstein lift in like three or four hours. Full strut replacements. I didn’t have any problem with the install, and it’s the third lift I’ve installed on vehicles over the years.

I used the HRG 1.5" lift kit. I started with the rear, thinking it would be easier, but found that not to be the case. The front went relatively smooth for me. I did both front and rear in a couple evenings after work. It definitely took longer than I thought it would, especially after watching the videos, but it wasn't too bad.

Clear instructions and getting the vehicle at a decent work height (not a fan of laying on the ground anymore) and the added bonus of having electric or pneumatic tools makes a big difference.

The rear is not easy even with the Bilstein lift. Yikes on that.

Youve got me nervous for the back now. I plan to get it done tomorrow so i'll see how bad it is.

Well my issue was losing tools in the dark then having to try about every wrench in my garage. Though I was just trying to get it done because it got irritating and ended up prolonging it.

I didn't mean to make you nervous. As I recall, the spring spacers weren't bad at all. It was those darn spacers above the rear control arms. Just be patient.... you'll get it!!

Thinking about it now, I believe my mistake was order of operations. I did it according to his video and when I read the instructions (after I was done..... yes, I'm a real man! 😁), I think if I would have followed those, there would have been less load on those control arms and I would have struggled much less.

Hope that helps.

Good luck!!

Well, im sure it wont be horrible since i dont have to use spring compressors and have the anxiety of it breaking while im arm deep below the strut mount, that made me pretty antsy (I didnt take the coil out I just compressed it enough to slide the spacer)
But maybe Ill speed through the back since i had issues with the front.. hopefully.
But I plan to get it done by friday so ill post pictures!
I also got a set of new rims and tires that come next week so I should get a little bit of a lift out those too ;)Thanks for the optimism though!

( I didnt read the instructions till I was done either lol)
