Hi all,
I wanted to hear some thoughts from all of you.
My bronco sport 2023 with 81k miles (pre owned, bought in a Ford dealership) like a month and a half ago started to act weird and after taking it to two different places, one ford dealership and one auto shop, they did not find anything weird but I was sure that something was wrong, I lost power twice in different days and at the beginning, in the for dealership they told me it was just the air filter cover that is was not properly installed, that same day when I got the car back, the car started to act worst and worst to the point to have multiple noises but no lights or warnings on the dashboard., I ended towing the car to the ford again which is 30 miles from my place and when they were road testing it, the transmission died on them and they had to tow the car back to the dealership just to learn that the transmission completely died and now it needs to be replaced and they are quoting me $8400+.

It is just amazing to me that this could happen out of nowhere and to get the words "transmission issues are a gamble, it seems you have bad luck and move out from Ford" from the sales manager at the Ford where I got this, specially because this is my second ford (first was a fusion 2018 blue certified pre owned) that I got from them and that the transmission also dies in that car after 12k miles that I got it with them, this happened also exactly a year ago, at that time I had an extended warranty and did not paid for the replacement but all the costs of not having a car for weeks, it is also annoying, and what are the chances to have the same exact issue 10 months after you get a car.
Now I am deeply concern and stressed about having to deal with this multiple times and that there is no too much care about the ford dealership besides offer me to move the car from the actual ford dealership to the one where I got it so they can see what is wrong, but I do not see the point if at the end it will be just another super high quote to repair a 3 year old car.

I love love my Bronco but now I don't know if should I take his advice and more out from Ford and basically leave my bronco or if replace the transmission will be the best option for me, I just don't want to go through this for a t third time if happens again.
Thank you all!

Did the dealership give you any used car warranty? 90 Day or did they tell you no warranty. seems like a month and a half should have had some type of used car warrant. If it's a Ford dealership.

Thanks for replying! - I feel like they did, but I do not remember, this was last year, I had the Bronco for 10 months before the issue started. And yes, it is a Ford dealership

Ok I read it like you purchased it a month and a half ago. Good luck with your repair.

I would recommend contacting a reputable independent transmission shop for a second opinion. And by independent, I mean not a chain (AAMCO, etc.) and research reviews and see if you can get referrals from people you know. I have had great success with such a shop near me. It's quite possible you caan have your transmission rebuilt for far less money, and if they do a good job it will be as good or better than a factory replacement transmission.

@Carcio93 Were they able to tell you what the cause of the failure was? I've seen issues with the torque converters get mentioned on these forums.

Might be the incentive I need to preemptively replace it.

That is the kind of trouble nobody needs.
Unfortunately your Sport is now in the mileage range where transmission issues seem to occur for some people.
Would you know if the transmission was ever serviced? not like it matters now.
As already mentioned, it's likely best to find a reputable independent shop that specializes in transmission work, that will be less costly than a Ford dealer. Though the price of a new transmission from Ford isn't to bad, you can purchase one for less than the full retail price that the dealer service department charges.
It's the labor and incidentals that drive up the cost of the job.
