This afternoon while pulling into a parking space the back end of my 2021 Big Bend with 70,000 miles on it felt very strange. Almost a slipping lurching feeling. Kind of a thump thump thump. Ford cannot even see it until next Tuesday. Good thing I kept my 20 year old Exterra. I kept it because of all the things I've heard that go wrong with these unfortunately after I bought it. Any ideas of what this could possibly be?

Check and make sure your skid plates haven't come loose, and good luck, keep us posted

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

My wife had this issue with our Outer Banks model at 40k .....Took it to the dealer and it was a bad rear differential .Thankfully it was covered under warranty !

Took my 2021 in on Tuesday for the service bulletin part 3 and was just informed they had to order a new differential. Current miles 30,941.
first service bulletin addressed replacing the differential oil. Solved the problem for about a month.
  • RECORD_ID: 2966458
    Bulletin Number: SSM 49571
    Replacement Service Bulletin Number: N/A
    NHTSA Item Number: 10187981
    Date Posted: 02-15-2021
    Component Name: 100000 POWER TRAIN
    Make: FORD
    Model: BRONCO SPORT
    Year: 2021
second trip was to check for clogged/defective / installed incorrectly vent tube. Had to order the parts for new vent tube.

Third trip back to service to get new vent tube installed and the differential is toast.

On the plus size the F150 Lariat loaner is a sweet ride.

Now if my injectors hold up and don't crack and if my water pump stays healthy and if they can ever fix the brake groaning and if they ever see fit to replace the "dust bowl making" front brake pads I may decide to keep this bronco Sport. But as of now I don't feel confident about taking it off-road as I did the first year and a half of owning it.
