I went to wash my car, then get had to get gas for the lawn mower. When I tried to restart my Bronco Sport outer banks every light came on advanced trac, no hill side assistance, car over heating, low tire pressure ,no driver assistance, no coolant , low battery, blind system fault, low fuel. I tried to take pictures of them. I was unable to turn it off , it was like it was stuck on I called road side assistance and my friend to pick it up. Finally it reset and let me start it I was able to drive it home like nothing happened . I’ve already had issues because my advanced trac has come on several times saying I have no driver assistance or hill side assistance. They could not figure out was was wrong. Said it could be an intermittent issue . It did it the beginning of April and May Both times while I was on vacation.
The end on May the wrench came on. I had to take In again. It was running fine but I wanted it checked out. The week prior to that light on Memorial Day weekend I spilled a slushy so the gear shift knob was not turning as freely. I ask them to check it out while it was there. They claim that was the problem and charged me $800 to replace it. Funny it was still running fine. They said it was shorted out. If that was so was was it still running ok and the wrench light went out . Pretty scary the gear Shift module beside the cup holder can cause the car to have issues . Now I have all these lights as well as the wrench again. I see several people have had trouble with this gear shift module as well as all these lights coming on. Many times Ford can’t determine the problem
I think there is definitely something going on with these cars. I am going to try and get it to the dealer I love this car and I am so disappointed. I am a loyal ford customer and at this point am afraid what next on this car
Same thing happened to mine BS at the beginning of October. Waited 2 hours for a tow, only to have it start right up. I still had it towed. Dealership couldn’t do anything bc they couldn’t get it to recreate the issue and nothing showed up on the computer system. All has been well until yesterday….it happened again. Only this time it would t start until this evening. This should not be happening to a new car. It’s inconvenient, to say the least. I had it towed to the dealership again, so that it can be documented in their system that it is an ongoing problem.

When you say the same thing, so you mean it happened after you went through a car wash? A few have reported issues with external connectors on the bottom of the car. These are supposed to be waterproof, but if one develops a leak and moisture gets inside then signals get crossed and the computer blows a gasket (how's that for mixed metaphors?).

No, neither time that it occurred had I been through a car wash.
Both happened after making quick stops at a store.

Heavy rain shower? Heh.

So you're saying you had the same symptoms, but not under the same conditions. Got it.

Definitely a gremlin of some sort. Intermittent malfunctions are the bane of maintenance shops. All you can do is tell the customer you can't reproduce the problem, and the customer then thinks you don't believe them. Tough situation for everyone involved. Really hard not to take things personally. My best advice is try more than one shop if you can.
