This sounds dumb I know. I know there are a million posts about the lack of engine cover on the newer sports, but I couldn't find the answer to this question anywhere. Can you take an engine cover from the '21 and install it on the '22? Same trim level. I think it has 2 areas to screw it in, and didn't know if those would even be there on the '22 model.

Yeah, you just need the little bolts for it - I ordered and installed all the parts, took about 5 minutes on my 22 OBX.

Oh thanks for this. I actually thought it wasn't available to order anymore. I was going to move it from my 21 to 22 but I'm not sure how hard it is to remove without losing any of the little pieces.
Glancing through that post it looks like a couple of standoffs to move and the cover basically snaps on with maybe one nut holding it down.

Ok, thanks. I'll have my husband look at it and see if he thinks he can do it.

Aw, c'mon. It's so easy I bet you could do it. And who knows? You might discover a fondness for wrenches and screwdrivers and ratchets and stuff!

I have to admit I did open the hood with the intention of doing it myself, and saw it required a tool that was not a screwdriver and gave up ?

side note...depending on the engine, it MIGHT be cheaper to find for a 20-22 escape of the same engine size. Even used from a crash lot.

Now, now Mark. She wouldn’t want to make her hubby feel useless. You know we women only pass jobs on to the hubs to inflate their ego. ??? If we did them ourselves we’d be done in half the time because we read the damn instructions. ?

Note to self: Read instructions for washing machine; do my own laundry; impress the wifey. Thx Wolfie, why didn't I think of that!? Oh yeah, I hate doing laundry.

BTW, former technical writer here. I used to write the damn instructions and I still don't read 'em. Get too wound up in how I would've written 'em differently...and better.
