Under body wiring options

Hey I’m looking for a little help I want to add some leds under the body near the doors for better lighting when the doors open. I don’t want them on all the time just door open or maybe even anytime interior light come on. I found a kit sold buy ford for like $280 (https://www.ford.com/product/courtesy-light-kit-underbody-illumination-by-lumen-p4000213959 )and Im not wanting to spend that much but what I did see is in the installation paperwork it shows using one of the pins behind the glovebox for power an it state they only come on when I want them on. Has anyone does this or is there another way to do this? Thanks
