BS'ers...
I'm a strong believer that in every challenge or obstacle there is also an opportunity.
On Friday 2/16 I was challenged with how to kill about 2 hours in Salina Kansas (from around 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.) after my late check out at the Homewood Suites (awesome hotel in Salina by the way with a Starbucks and a Greek/Mediterrean Restaurant attached which was pretty much the best in city) expired and before I had to pickup my son who was touring the KSU Aerospace and Technology Campus there...
OK, I'm from Texas so calibrate that, but it was 30 degrees with a harsh wind from the North. I walked the Main street to kill 45 minutes (had to step in and appreciate Big Nose Kate Bar and Grill, I'm sure there is a tie in there I'm not aware of), but after going completely numb (wasn't really dressed for the weather) I decided I needed to cruise about town in Lakota and find something to do indoors.
That is when I stumbled on The Garage Automotive Museum. I wouldn't say I would drive hours to check it out, but even though I'm not exactly and automobile enthusiast, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience.
Out of respect for the venue, I'm only going to post a few somewhat relevant pics here.
Stepping through the doors, I saw the legend in its glory...
Can honestly say that Orange is pretty awesome on it.
Anyway, if you are ever in that area, it is worth a stop, they had some really interesting things in there. Oh, and something they didn't mention but I stumbled on is that they have BEER.... it enhances the experience...
Happy Trails Everyone...
