Howdy. I am a Mac person so be kind.

I have been using Forscan for 5 or so years now on different vehicles. I had a work Win 10 laptop that I would use. I retired the 31st of Jan and no longer have that laptop. I have the Apple M1 chip in my MacBook so I can’t run windows.

I went to Wally World yesterday and bought a HP laptop with Win 11 home S. I turned off the S so I could download Forscan. I downloaded the 2.3.45 (latest one). It works fine loaded right up, after a bit of figuring out how to add a Bluetooth adapter and get Forscan to recognize it, it finds it no problem. This is one I have used many times so I know it works.

I have a 2022 BS OB. Forscan finds the adaptor but will not connect to vehicle. I tried a few different ways but still no connection.

so is this a Win 11 or Forscan or a me being stupid problem?

I used Forscan with windows 11 today with no issues. I have a wired obd connector rather than bluetooth though. Bluetooth on Windows has always been flaky for anything other than speakers and mice so maybe that is the issue. It could also be that yours is a 2022 as mine is a 2021.
This is the adapter I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094Z7PBLS

I have my wife’s Expedition today. I am going to make sure it still works on it before I go any further. Thanks for the info it works on Win 11.

Update. I connected to my wife's Expedition this morning. I received a warning stating my OBD bluetooth adaptor was not fast enough to work with Forscan. It connected to the Expy after that. I will be buying a new adaptor today. I guess the 5+ year old adapter is showing its age.

The answer was. I received a new vLink adaptor today. After installing the drivers I went out and it hooked right up to my 2022. So I guess the 5 year old BT one is a spare for older cars or maybe Torq App. Now to get the ASS turned off and maybe find the BT pairing name to change it from Sync.

Which vLink adapter did you get?

Is your laptop using an ARM chip?

I ask as I tried using a Samsung Galaxy Book2, which has Windows 11 full, but with an ARM chip. It was a no-go. I connected to my garage desktop computer and it connected without any problems.
