Just drove my BS BB from AZ to NC yesterday. The NC hills seem to be throwing the car for a loop. Every time I'm traveling around 40 mph, the car will refuse to accelerate or decelerate and shudder/vibrate until I apply heavy pedal pressure to break the cycle and shift up. It's only at this speed and has no trouble shifting from any other gear. Do I have a bad transmission at 5k miles? Anyone else experiencing rough shifting?

It sounds like a programming issue, not a bad transmission. You definitely need to take it in for warranty service ASAP. The shuddering sounds like the engine is lugging, which happens when you make a high power demand at a low RPM. This isn't good for engines, but it's especially bad for small-displacement turbocharged engines.

Until you can get it in for service consider trying a different GOAT mode (ECO or SPORT) to see if shifting behavior changes. If it doesn't I would set the transmission to manual mode and use the paddle shifters until I could get it in for service. Click here for information about how to use the paddle shifters. The video depicts a Mustang, but the gist is the same.

Good morning! I would like to look Bronco's driving performance on my end. Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer?
