A Sleep button.

I was just taking the trash to the barn and noticed my sunroof was in vent mode. I remembered being distracted when I got got home and not paying attention when I closed the roof and windows. Luckily the sunroof really changes the profile of the BS so it is obvious when open. When my wife's Explorer is clean I have to actually tap on her roof to be sure the sunroof is closed because it is so hard to see. Which got me to thinking how nice it would be to have a Sleep button on my Ford App that would assure me that the roof and windows are closed, the car is not running , and optionally that the doors are locked.

You can close all the windows with the fob, so the app should be able to do that.

I downloaded a gas app this morning but I was thinking, Ford should just put that on their own app just to make it more useful.

So do ya think the roof counts as a window? It’s cocktail hour here on the east coast so I’ll have to research that tomorrow.

In the interests of science, I just tried it. I know the app can't control the windows. But I tried it just to be sure and no, it did not do anything except door locks. Still seems like a feature it could add but maybe they want to reserve that for the fob-equipped vehicles?

With the fob. It doesn't operate the sunroof and shade, open or close. The roof doesn't move manually unless the engine is on or the accessory is running. The remote window feature doesn't seem to work when it's remote started. Once the remote start is on, the climate system is also running and probably they don't want just anyone to get into a running car. Thus climbing out the roof is not defenestration.

Ok so I am going to post an individual thread about something awesome I found on Reddit for iPhone users! Not sure from an Android perspective but I hope there is an equivalent! So I can use Siri now to check certain parameters on the vehicle as well as stop, start, unlock, lock the doors. Some people are just too smart and I thank them for it, but this post is perfection.

That would be nice additionally to be able to close windows cause I left mine craked one day while I was at work ( work on a train otherwise did it myself ) and unlocked, remote started it so my son could roll them up but that was a no go it wouldn't work.

Clever thinking but I guess without the fob he couldn't operate the windows.
