On Tuesday January 16th 2024 the crank seal blew out on my 2022 OBX with the 1.5L. The failure occurred while driving on the highway at 120kmh and at outside temps near -38°c. I did not notice this failure until I arrived at my destination and smelled oil through the vents. I popped the hood and seen oil everywhere, I then immediately shut off the car. The engine ended up leaking 2 litres of oil and no warning lights or bells came on to warn me. Oil then began dripping onto the ground. The vehicle only has 20950kms. The crank seal and a leaking water pump was all repaired at Lakeland Ford in Prince Albert SK in 2 days under warranty. The fact that a crank seal blows out on a very young engine is very concerning along with many other issues with this engine.
