Berliner on felt underside coverings?

Throwing it out there to see if anyone has used a bed liner type spray or roll on to help protect the felt underside protectors? If you have I would love to see pictures and get your opinions on it.

I heard this was a good option on the wheel carpets. They will soak it up and turn into hard shells in theory. Maybe dampen road noise as well.
