Only time I use the app to start is on the acreage and the fob is always in my pocket.

Ive had issues when the start feature didnt work, Im contemplating having a remote start added. I like the fact I can unlock it if Im ever unfortunate enough to leave the fob in it and lock it on the way out. I do check tire pressure with it occasionally

.., i feel you shouldnt need your phone to "unlock" or 'start' your vehicle. old school i guess.
plus i see things going downhill quickly if your phone is ever lost.....
tech is nice but can be deadly....
Well no different than losing your fob! We never carry the fob for our Rivian. Walking up to it with our phones unlocks the doors, adjusts the seat and mirrors and starts the phone music playing on the stereo for whoever is in drivers seat. My wife and I carry a backup card we can touch to the door to open it and enable driving, but we keep them in our wallets which are probably more likely to be lost or stolen than our phones!

Truthfully, both the car and the app are P's OS. I've been back to the dealer a half a dozen or so times for both this completely unreliable app and the shtty unreliable infotainment system as well as two brake/directional light changes (have to make another appointment today as a matter of fact)- in a six month old vehicle.
A $100 aftermarket startup remote will be a lot more reliable than this unaccountably unreliable app. Do you need to get up in the middle of the 15° night to go to work and have to warm your car up like you own a 93 Corolla? Or have to change worn and ridiculously cheap windshield wipers 3 months after picking up your new car? I bought a car that looked good and this is what I get for not being more discerning- or just going back to Jeep, which wasn't the best car I've had, but 85% better than this good looking piece of crap that really doesn't give you much for the money.
And good luck calling Ford about this piece of crap app. Lots of unaccountability to offer.
I'd gladly return this car if it were easily returnable.

The convenience's of the phone app is nice, but shouldn’t be relied upon as a substitute carrying your key fob for many reasons.
I also had a problem with the FordPass App this week, trying to start my Badlands with my Apple Watch, and then iPhone. The Apple Watch being another nice convenience.
I really love this technology but still stick to some old school habits. If the app works, great! If not, oh well.
Or use your Securilock keypad.
