For some reason, the liftgate door will not open if the car is locked. If I try the liftgate glass, it will open fine, but when I try to open the door the lights flash and the door does not open. If I unlock the door then everything works fine. Shouldn't the liftgate door function as other locks, opening up on touch if the keyfob is detected? I don't understand why the glass would work but not the door.

Update,:

Even though I thought I searched the site pretty good, I did find a thread on here that talked about the problem and the fix.

Please delete this thread as it seems I do not have the ability to do so.

Thanks for bringing it up, I was just at sams club yesterday and was kinda dumbfounded that the glass could open but not the gate without unlocking the vehicle.
Searched the thread you mentioned and now it’s working

OK, I will try this. I wrote following the based on my understanding of the linked post.

Upon Learning approach unlock functions only for the glass, reset approach unlock for the lift gate by performing the following steps :
1. Double press the [hatch] button twice.
2. Close the hatch
3. Single press the [lock] button.
4. Back away and re attempt to unlock-on-approach by pressing the [release] button on the hatch.

Is that right?
